These flashsticks are talking post-its! You can put them on the pupil's desk, on the wall, on any support for students to read, pronounce and most importantly to listen to the correct prononciation. With your phone or tablet, download the free app Aurasma, hoover over the post-it and the video with the correct prononciation will appear.
The post-its are colour coded according to the masculine (blue post-its), feminine (pink post-its), neutral (for German - yellow post-its) and others words (green post-its).
They are suitable for Primary and Secondary schools. At present, they exist at beginners level. Level 2 is to be launchedin march 2014.
Some suggestions for use :
1) Allocate a learning board in your classroom where you will stick the post-its. You can post the words, they already know and add a new word a day for them to discover.
2) Play the game guess the word, place a post-it on each student back, another student hoover their phone/tablet, the student must listen for the word and tell the other student what it means before the video gives the meaning.
3) Place a diifferent word on each table everyday to get student curious.
